Message from Simon Brown
ResourceCo continues to go from strength to strength; particularly our latest joint venture with SITA Environmental Solutions. SITA ResourceCo Alternative Fuels is also taking shape and the next 3-5 years are extremely exciting for all concerned.
Recent announcements by the Federal Government, regarding a carbon-trading scheme, will open new doors for the recycling industry and we are excited that with our Joint Venture Partners SITA, we will be well positioned to further develop the Alternative Fuels sector.
The future for ResourceCo in the Carbon and Green Energy markets is enormously encouraging. It presents ResourceCo with opportunities to expand its interests, both nationally and internationally, as the green energy market expands and greenhouse gas concerns become more commonplace.
Over the last seven years ResourceCo have been working on mix designs for concrete batching using a range of Recycled Aggregates. Our efforts in this area have started to bear fruit and in December 2006 Greenstar Concrete was incorporated and established. Today, Greenstar proudly boasts two plants and seven concrete trucks delivering concrete daily into the Adelaide market using Recycled Aggregates. Greenstar also operates in country areas with state-of-the-art mobile batching plants.
ResourceCo have also spent five years developing a range of products made from recycled crushed asphalt. Products such as Bitumate™ have been actively sold into the marketplace for many years and ResourceCo have enjoyed a huge success in selling the product as hard stand areas or in local country roads where the reduction of dust is a major contributor to the sales process.
The next stage in the development of recycled asphalt products is Bitumix™. Bitumix™ has been developed as an alternative to hot mix predominantly as a deep lift product. However, reasonable results have been achieved in regional areas for smaller car parks and hard stand areas.
These achievements show that ResourceCo are leading the way in sustainable products for infrastructure and that we are genuinely excited by the opportunities ahead.
